Post by Admin-Emperor Dalek on Fri 13 Jul 2018 - 13:45

From BBC One on Twitter.
The World Cup may not be coming home but the TARDIS is on its way. Tune into the World Cup Final this Sunday or come back here for the exclusive first look of new Doctor Who and friends.

It will be a year since Jodie Whittakier was announced, Sunday 16th July 2017.

Wait, it's nearly been a whole YEAR since Whittaker was announced? My goodness, time goes by rather quickly. It doesn't feel that long at all.

Reminder that the trailer will be shown during the half-time of today's match. Thoughts, speculation and hopes will be given here following its' release.

We wait twelve months for this....still not convinced for a female Doctor. Reminds me of the SJA, but that was really good.

Not gonna lie, that was complete rubbish. Seriously, what did the trailer actually show us which we didn't already know? Absolutely nothing at all.

I wasn't expecting that much, but I was at the very least expecting an actual, y'know, Trailer.

I can also tell now I'm going to get bored of these companions so quickly, purely because they're all from the same time, place, two of them are the same age as well. At least with the 2nd doctor it worked because Jamie was a Highlander, and with the 5th doctor Nyssa was from another planet while Turlough was initially employed as the Doctor's assassin.

In the sixties stories were between four and six parts so more time to tell a story.
In the 80s it didn't work so well, example, Kinda where Nyssa collapses, just a way of removing her from that story.
Maximum should be two. Unless one of the new ones is only in it part time.

The Beano special that Bradley Walsh was reading, its the same one as the 11th Doctor was reading in the Rings of Akhaten .
