Helen Griffin

Post by LastOfTheSonics on Sun 1 Jul 2018 - 14:04

Helen Griffin has passed away at age 60.

She was most known for her role in the cult classic "Twin Town". She appeared in two episodes of Doctor Who in 2006 as Mrs Moore / Angela Price. She muttered the infamous line, "Yea, well, upgrade this!"

May she Rest in Peace.

Oh no! She was one of the best and most underrated parts of one of the best and underrated stories of the modern era. She was very politically motivated as a person too, which made her such a perfect fit for Mrs Moore. A fact some of you may not know was that she got the part after reading in for guest actors unable to attend readthroughs in Series One. May she RIP.

I wish that we had gotten a spin-off series with her. Whether it would've been televised or via Big Finish. It would of been fun to see what the Preachers did before the Doctor's group came to parallel Earth. It's tragic that now, such a thing can never happen.

Gary Russell tweeted that she was actually meant to be in the Gallifrey range at one point (he never specified whether as Mrs Moore or a new Time Lady character, which would probably be more likely), but the plans never came to fruition, which is a shame. She did make a Big Finish appearance in the Fifth Doctor story Cobwebs though.
